>Margaret Simpson – Arthurian Legends : Twisted Tales

>

I’ve read a number of books before and oh man never have I been so embarrassed reading a book as I was reading Arthurian Legends (Twisted Tales) by Margaret Simpson.  The book was clearly meant for the younger audience, age 12 and under, but that’s not why it was so bad.  Just because you are writing for a younger audience, that is not an excuse to use poor grammar.

The entire book is just a combination of Arthurian Legends written through fake news paper articles, comic strips, made up dialogue, etc.  None of the stories are all too thorough, which is to be expected, but some don’t even deal with the legends at all.  In one story, a knight even pulls out a cell phone…… If you want to be entertained with funny stories (if you are in that age group), then this book is for you, but if you are looking to learn anything about the Arthurian Legends, find another book.

    >This is not the style of book I would read but I enjoyed your take on this book. I am going to look through other books you have reviewed. I like your blog I stumbled across it.

  3. >Seriously though— Arthurian Legends featuring a "cell phone" DOES sound pretty phony and terrible…
